The requirement was for a cost-effective, flexible alternative to classroom training. Working with client software developers, we devised and scripted key 'nursery slope' example routines to match user learning objectives. Step-by-step screen sequences were captured and voice-over added to build clickable, interactive software simulations for CD or on-line delivery.
The aim of this project was to train a network of system administrators on key routines in a new software system. After initial launch training, the programme would form part of an on-line help system that could be expanded at a later date.
Role
We worked with IT developers to identify key learning routines for screen capture. Realistic scenarios were written for screen sequences capture with development of caption and voice-over instructions.
Development
10 basic and 10 advanced routines were identified. Agreed scenarios were then run through the live or off-line system for screen sequence capture. On-screen and voiced instructions were added for the final production in which all chapters were accessible via menu screens. Delivery was by way of CD, web or LMS.
