Our role was to transform a somewhat tired, bullet-point driven set of slides into a programme of vibrant, instructor-led presentations. Audio-Visual slide sequences with voice narration, video clips, table-top games, interactive PowerPoint quizzes and classroom electronic assessments provide exciting instructor materials. A road-map theme gives access to each topic via a motorway junction.

Brief
For this project, we were required to develop a suite of presentation materials for a national induction programme for warehouse staff in a retail logistics business. The business has depots throughout the UK and requires new employees to be inducted in a wide range of subjects in a 2-day classroom course, before completing on-the-job training as part of a personal training and development plan.

Role
We worked with company training specialists to pool, re-vitalise and augment existing training materials from a wide range of sources. Our brief was to change the then current perception of the old training regime, which was one of “death-by-bullet-point”.

Concept
We devised the 'Induction Highway' concept, a logistics-related theme that gives delegates the notion of a learning journey. A pop-up banner depicting the concept was devised as a classroom aid for delegates to view throughout their training. For each module, we produced a high-quality presentation and comprehensive trainer session plan. Information was presented using a wide range of tools including: voice-narrated sequences, presentation activities (Quick-Flip Cards©, Quick-Fire 'TV' quizzes© and Storyline Case Studies©), plus board and card games.

For key compliance areas, where a record of learning achievement was required, our electronic assessment format was used to confirm learning levels.

Delivery
The project materials were delivered to trainers in a folio presentation case, containing trainer documents, game board/pieces and card games. Electronic material was distributed on a USB key–ring, allowing for easy updating, as the project developed.
