Over many years, we have worked with the technical training department of a major automotive brand to develop and update their library of complex technical presentation slides, classroom electronic assessments, visual aids and delegate documents. We supply delegate document packs, on demand, to match an ever-changing multi-course schedule.
Role
Applying our wide range of hard-copy and electronic publishing skills, we work with technical instructors in the rapid development of new training materials or the enhancement of existing items. We use tried-and-tested formats that offer flexibility in terms of design and production costs. Our micro-printing and binding facilities are used to produce prototype and short runs of colour delegate packs for a suite of some 40 industry-approved courses delivered at regional training centres.
Development
Instructors typically assemble a first-pass draft of rudimentary PowerPoint slides and items for inclusion in delegate documents. Hitherto, instructors would spend inordinate amounts of time heroically wielding slide, graphics and page-publishing software – usually with cost-ineffective and inconsistent results.
We now work side-by-side with instructors to ensure that, through a process of dialogue and design, their technical expertise is translated into course materials that have high and consistent visual quality, promote trainer confidence, lead to effective training and support the brand.
We provide a range of items including enhanced technical graphics, video extraction and editing for inclusion in slide presentations, illustrated electronic assessments to check delegate progress, posters and table-top model, component and information games to reinforce learning.
Production and Delivery
To avoid costly stocks of potentially out-of-date documents, we provide short-run, poly-bagged, wire-bound, stapled or punched A4 and A5 workbook and document packs, produced on economical, eco-friendly, solid-ink colour printers. Delivery is in half-A4 boxes (for ease of lifting) with, typically, overnight delivery.
'Topic-ized'
This client coined the term 'topic-ized' to refer to formats and design that we have consistently applied to their training materials.
Other projects
In addition to supplying publishing services for standard courses, we have also produced training materials for vehicle launches, award ceremonies and distance learning productions.
